RCD Espanyol played Cordoba in the Round 25 Friday night opener. The only goal came through Abraham in the 42nd min which gave Espanyol the 1 - 0 victory. Cordoba continue with their nightmare season & will be struggling of what is left of the season to avoid relegation.
Granada hosted FC Barcelona & lost 1 - 3. Barça won but were not convincing with good play in patches. The opener of the game came through Ratikic in the 24th min, which was later added to through Luis Suarez in the 47th min. Granada pulled one back in the 52nd min through a penalty that Fran Rico converted & later Messi sealed things for Barça in the 69th min.
Luis Suarez was substituted & expressed his dismay & frustration, although his Coach praised him post-match press conference stating the Uruguayan is in exceptional form.
Madrid Club Rayo Vallecano defeated Levante 4 - 2 with all 4 Rayo goals scored by Bueno - 22nd, 31st, 32nd & 35. First time this has occurred in the history of Rayo Vallecano. For Levante their two goals came through Casadesus 13th min & Uche in th 84th min.
Peculiar match between Almeria & Deportivo A Coruña which ended in a 0 - 0 draw. Strange in the sense that Deportivo shot 20 times at goal with zero effectiveness & was not able to score with Almeria down to 9 men.
Malaga FC deservedly won 3 - 2 Getafe, although the visitors put in a great 2º half & nearly equalized. -Goals for Malaga, Juami (9th min), Darder (56th min) & Horta (67th min), while Alvaro scored both goals for Getafe - 54th & 76th min.
